How Matching Works
Tell Fate who you are
A few minutes when you join: what you are looking for, the values you will not bend on, and the kind of week you actually enjoy.
Talk to Fate, or type
Fate asks you questions the way a friend would, out loud or in writing. The more it understands you, the better the people it brings you.
It brings you a few people, not a feed
No endless swiping. Fate hands you a small set of people chosen for you, and keeps working while you get on with your life.
Core Match Types
Your matches
A short list of people chosen for you, not a feed to scroll. Five on a free account, and more as you move up: six on Basic, seven on Standard, eight on Premium, ten in the Inner Circle.
Anonymous match
One of your matches arrives with no name and no photo. You talk first and find out who they are afterwards, which is the opposite of how every other app works.
Joker match
One person who is nothing like your usual type. Free members are given one. Paid members can choose theirs and hand it to someone specific.
Explore
When you want to look rather than wait. Browse recent members, and start a conversation with anyone who catches your eye.
Roulette Calls
Live Call
Connect instantly with compatible users. Auto-match for voice call conversations.
After Call - Mutual Consent
- 1
If both users say 'Yes', the connection is established.
- 2
If one user says 'No', the match is discarded and you move to the next.
A: Card Swap
The previous card is replaced with this new person in your list.
Outcome B: Removal
Both users are removed from each other's lists.

Frequently Asked Questions
From what you tell it and what you do. What you said when you joined, what you tell it when you talk, who you keep and who you let go. It is trying to work out what you actually want, which is not always what you say.
Five on a free account. Six on Basic, seven on Standard, eight on Premium, and ten in the Inner Circle. They are a short list on purpose: when one ends, Fate brings you someone new.
It’s a “total opposite” match. Free users receive one Joker match automatically, while paid users can choose a user of their choice.
If you both agree after a call, the new person replaces an existing card in your list.
They may have unmatched you or swapped you out for someone they found on Fate roullete, check your insights to learn why
Small things you choose to do: unlocking someone already fully matched, messaging a person you found in Explore, or handing your Joker to someone specific. You can earn them too, by verifying your profile or telling us what is not working.
